Even though the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls opened in 1987, we still feel it’s important to look for new opportunities to “spread the word about us”. Social media is an excellent way of finding new guests. We were offered the chance to have The Weekend Retweaters visit us and we jumped on it. The ladies had bunches of fun. They toured the grounds and gardens, wined and dined and had a blissful night’s slumber. I met up with them at breakfast, shared our history and had the best time getting to know all of them. Of course, visiting with our guests is the best part of innkeeping! And, how lucky are we when they all wrote great articles about us. They are welcome to come back anytime!

"When we first got the email about the Weekend Retweaters, we both thought “What a great name and what an awesome idea!” Trade a weekend stay for a crash course on social media marketing. Being facebook newbies, we did not realize the wide reach that social media can have for small businesses with a limited marketing budget like ours. In the weeks before their visit, the Retweaters facebooked, tweeted, and blogged about their upcoming trip, getting the name of our B&B out there online. Once they arrived, we had a great time with them, showing them around our little town, which they also talked up through various outlets. On top of that Tiffany spent many hours showing Alli the ins-and-outs of facebook and how to make it work for us. Our facebook friends are up, and so is the interest in our bed and breakfast.
